A Phenomenal Deal – Plan Ahead and Save

It’s about time!! I have been telling Calvert for years that they were WAY overdue for a good old-fashioned SALE on their curriculum. And believe it or not, someone finally heard me?!

I have told my friends at Calvert for a long time that homeschoolers are a notoriously thrifty lot. We are the ones who teach our kids to make silk purses out of sow’s ears. We are ardent enthusiasts of a good deal, and we like to tell our friends about it. So, I get to tell you about a good deal that I am phenomenally excited about.

Calvert has just launched an unprecedented sale of curriculum. The promotional is entitled “Plan Ahead and Save” and it will be unprecedented in Calvert history. What they are offering is a 30% discount off the course price for any grade level curriculum. This will include enrichment courses and school spirit wear as well, but is limited to stock on hand.

I have to tell you honestly that the first time I heard about this I thought, you’re kidding! Really? Yeah, really.
The discount runs from now through Saturday, February 26, 2011. There ARE some caveats, so I guess you would call the next paragraph the “fine print” of the contract.

In order to get the discount, you have to pay for the course in full at the time of purchase. There will be no payment plans or financial aid eligibility. No other eligible discounts. The discount applies to full course enrollments only and excludes fees for the Advisory Teaching Service and the Calvert Virtual Academy. Calvert Skills Workshops and Re-use Courses are not included.

You will need to enter a discount code in order to obtain the special pricing. The code will be WEBSITE. You can order next year’s curriculum NOW, and Calvert has even extended the access to the online services, so you can begin when you are ready and those services will be available to you until June 2012. Calvert will offer a 60 days refund. If you are unsatisfied, you may return an unused course (i.e. with no writing in any of the materials) for any reason within 60 days of receipt for a full tuition refund. This applies to ATS service as well.

Now, I know some of you are furiously thinking of questions – so let me see if I can answer a few up front so that we will be on the same page. New customers can take the mid-year placement tests, and if they score well and expect to continue progressing through this year, then they can order the following grade level. If your child is too young for the placement, then just order the next succeeding year. The next question I know the veterans are asking, is “Yeah, but what about what you might bring out this summer?” Calvert anticipates a few changes in the curriculum that will be available in the fall. These modifications will be offered as part of an “upgrade” kit to families who purchased curriculum during this sale.  And just as an added measure for you detailed folks, here is a link to the promotional on the website:  http://homeschool.calvertschool.org/sale

I am excited about this, for myself and for my Calvert friends. The discount train is leaving the station folks! Be on it!!
